Men’s Brown RAF B3 Flying Jacket in Sheepskin and Shearling

Dark brown sheepskin outside, thick honey coloured shearling inside, and tan leather straps at the collar, the cuffs and the hem. It is the RAF B3 in its warmest colouring, and the one to look at if you want a mens flying jacket in brown.

A brown flying jacket

Brown with honey shearling is softer than the classic black and ginger. It looks like a jacket that has already done some flying, and it only gets better as the leather creases and darkens with wear.

What it is made of

Sheepskin leather with the wool left on the inside, so shearling lines the body, the collar and the cuffs. That is where the warmth comes from. There is no padding, just the skin and the wool.

The collar and the straps

A wide double lapel shearling collar folds across the shoulders. Turn it up and fasten the strap across the throat and it closes round your neck. Straps at the cuffs and a buckled belt at the hem pull it in against the wind.

Sizing

Shearling takes up room inside, so a B3 fits closer than a plain leather jacket of the same size. Measure round your chest over a jumper and check the table. Sizes run XS to 3XL.

Looking after it

Wipe the leather with a damp cloth. Brush the wool back up when it flattens. If it gets soaked, let it dry slowly at room temperature, well away from radiators.
