Captain America Blue Leather Jacket

Blue cowhide with a high tab collar and a clean front. The reason this works as a costume is the collar. A Nehru style tab at the throat is what separates it from any other blue jacket.

This is our own jacket made to that look. It is not official merchandise and we hold no licence from any studio or publisher.

The build

Cowhide leather, which is the heavier hide and the one that holds a structured shoulder. Satin lining. A tab Nehru style collar fastens at the neck. The front closes with a YKK zip and the sleeves close with tabs rather than zips. There is a pocket on the inside.

After the 31st

Blue leather is unusual enough to be interesting and plain enough to wear. Once the costume part is over this reads as a blue biker jacket. That is more than you can say for most things bought for one night.

Sizing

Buy for the shoulder. A costume jacket that hangs off you looks like fancy dress no matter how good the colour is. Measure round the fullest part of your chest over a t shirt. Use the table on this page rather than your usual size. Sizes run XS to 3XL.

Every jacket is cut and stitched in your size after you order, so we need the time. Order by 12pm on Tuesday 13 October and it reaches you before the 31st. After that we cannot promise it for Halloween, and we would rather say so than take your money.

Looking after it

Wipe it with a damp cloth when it needs it. Use a leather conditioner once or twice a year. Keep it away from radiators, because heat dries leather out and cracks it. Hang it on a wide hanger, never a wire one. Wire cuts a dent into the shoulder over time. If it gets caught in rain, hang it somewhere airy. Let it dry on its own rather than speeding it up with heat.

The cut is a motorcycle jacket, so plenty of people search for it that way. A captain america motorcycle jacket, a captain america biker jacket and a leather captain america jacket all describe this one. The blue is what makes it recognisable. The shape underneath is a straight moto cut you could wear with the reference removed.
