Women’s Cropped Brown Leather Jacket

Cropped, crop or short?

All three get typed. A brown cropped jacket, a brown leather crop jacket, a cropped brown leather jacket, or a cropped leather jacket for women. They describe the same thing, which is a jacket that stops at or above the waistband rather than covering the hip.

Cognac, tan or brown?

What it is made of

One hundred per cent sheepskin on the outside, which is the softer of the hides and why this one feels the way it does. Polyester lining inside. Sheepskin creases more readily than a stiffer hide, and those creases are what give a leather jacket character rather than being a fault.

The off centre zip and the badge

The zip sits to one side in the traditional biker way rather than running up the middle. Two zipped pockets at the sides and zips at the cuffs. There is a small badge applied at the back, which is the only decoration on an otherwise plain jacket.

Sizing, and the cropped length

Cropped jackets are less forgiving than long ones because the hem sits at the narrowest part of you. Measure round the fullest part of your chest over a t shirt and use the table on this page. If you are between sizes, the smaller one usually looks better on a cropped cut. Sizes run XS to 3XL.

Looking after it

Specialist leather cleaning only, not a general dry cleaner. Wipe everyday marks with a damp cloth and cold water. Condition it once a year so the cognac does not dry and dull. Keep it off radiators and out of long sunlight.
