The quiet version. This takes the collar and the shape from the costume jackets and drops the colour blocking, so what you are left with is a proper motorcycle jacket that only people who know will spot.

It is our own jacket rather than official merchandise, and we hold no licence.

The build

Cowhide leather, the heavier hide, with a satin lining. A tab Nehru style collar closes at the neck instead of folding into lapels. YKK zip up the front. Tab closed sleeves. A pocket on the inside.

Why this one over the blue

Because you will actually wear it. The blue and multi coloured versions are costume jackets that happen to be well made. This is a motorcycle jacket that happens to reference something. If you want one jacket that does both jobs, this is the one to buy.

Sizing

Close through the chest and shoulder, the way a motorcycle jacket should sit. Measure round the fullest part of your chest over a t shirt and use the table on this page rather than your high street size. Sizes run XS to 3XL.

Every jacket is cut and stitched in your size after you order, so we need the time. Order by 12pm on Tuesday 13 October and it reaches you before the 31st. After that we cannot promise it for Halloween, and we would rather say so than take your money.

Looking after it

Wipe it with a damp cloth when it needs it. Use a leather conditioner once or twice a year. Keep it away from radiators, because heat dries leather out and cracks it. Hang it on a wide hanger, never a wire one. Wire cuts a dent into the shoulder over time. If it gets caught in rain, hang it somewhere airy. Let it dry on its own rather than speeding it up with heat.
