Men’s Orange Leather Biker Jacket

Orange biker, motorcycle or motorbike jacket?

Cowhide, and why it matters here

Cowhide is the heavier of the two hides we use. It holds its shape instead of going soft after a few wears, which is what you want on a jacket with this much panel work. The lining is satin, so it slides on easily. A YKK zip runs the front.

The padding, and what it is for

The quilted sections are not decoration. They sit where a rider actually lands, across the shoulders and the point of the elbow. On a padded leather motorcycle jacket that construction also gives the jacket structure, so it keeps its outline rather than collapsing at the arms.

The collar and the pockets

A banded collar that stands rather than folds, so nothing flaps at speed. Two outer side pockets and one inside. The black stripes run the full length of the sleeve and continue down the body, which is what ties the whole thing together rather than leaving the sleeves as separate pieces.

Sizing

Cowhide is stiff when new and softens over a season without stretching. Measure round the fullest part of your chest over a t shirt, keep the tape level, and check the table on this page. If you plan to wear a jumper under it, size up rather than hoping. Sizes run XS to 3XL.

Looking after it

Wipe it with a damp cloth when it needs it. Condition the leather once a year so the orange does not dry and dull. Keep it out of long sunlight, because strong colours fade before black does. No radiators, and use a broad hanger.
